12/30/2024At first, you might think David Granger is just a prejudiced moron—his views on Muslims, the Dutch, and others are shocking. But as the story unfolds, you realize there’s so much more to him. The fact that his closest friends were gay, Vietnamese, and from diverse backgrounds made me rethink my initial impressions. What really moved me was his deep, lifelong love for one woman and the moment when Jessica’s painting took him by surprise—it brought me to tears. His journey of making amends and seeking redemption taught me so much. This book is raw, emotional, and incredibly human.
