Bashimuli are members of a Luhya speaking clan in Western Kenya who claim descent from Kosiom ole Naloise, a Maasai ruler-pastrolist who settled in Idakho area of Kakamega County about 400 years ago. The name also applies to persons born into the clanduring its formative years but whose alleged paternity elsewhere was not proved and acted upon.
