Summary: The novel begins with a strange legend, the hand of rock musician Jimi Hendrix is supposedly buried in Lviv’s Lychakiv Cemetery, and every year aging hippies gather there to honor him. Among them are Alik, an old hippie, and Captain Ryabtsev, a former KGB officer who once spied on Soviet counterculture but is now filled with regret. At the same time, another storyline follows Taras, a taxi driver who earns money by driving kidney-stone patients over Lviv’s rough cobblestone streets to help them pass their stones. Taras falls in love with Darka, a young woman who works at a currency exchange booth despite being strangely allergic to money.
