The year 2021 is considered as special for the creative economy across the world. This is informed ,first by the fact of its declaration by the united nations general assembly, at its 74 session in 2019, as the international year of creative economy for sustainable development. It bridged 40 emerging artists with pioneers in a visual dialogue, serving as a precursor to the National Art Gallery of Kenya (NAGOK). The initiative aimed to showcase Kenyan talent while creating a platform for dialogue on establishing a National Art Gallery of Kenya. Featured pioneers such as Kibacia Gatu, Zarina Patel, Haajambi Kangára, and Sukuro Etale.
